The problem it solves

Romania's national Electronic ID card (CEI) is rolling out, and any organisation that needs to verify identity — banks, public institutions, telcos, healthcare, any regulated onboarding — has to be able to read it, prove it's genuine, and use it for signing and check-in. Doing that correctly is not trivial: it means working with the card's cryptography, the chip's protocols, and eIDAS/GDPR requirements, across every platform a real deployment touches.
