Project context
HistoLab is a Council of Europe history education and cooperation project funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe. Its digital hub serves educators, researchers and organizations in the field.
The challenge
The platform needed to present different content types coherently: teaching resources, media, events, tutorials and a professional community. Editors needed to publish and maintain those materials without a developer for each change.
Project objectives
- Provide shared access to resources and professional activities.
- Support editorial management for each content type.
- Connect educators through HIST-CONNECT.
Solution and implementation
UP2DATE built a Vue.js frontend connected through an API to the Directus headless CMS. Content management is separate from the public interface.

Editors manage content types in Directus while the frontend presents a consistent experience.
Delivered outcome
The public hub brings HistoLab resources, community and activities together. Editors manage materials in the CMS while educators explore them on one platform.
